After qualifying in 1988, Mr Mohan completed his postgraduate training in Orthopaedic surgery in India in 1990. In UK, he undertook his higher surgical training in Glasgow Royal Infirmary and other hospitals in the West of Scotland Orthopaedic training programme.  He later completed his fellowship in Adult reconstructive and Lower limb Arthroplasty from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada. He has also completed a trauma and pelvic reconstructive fellowship from Berne, Switzerland.

He specialises in surgery for young patients with Hip Arthritis, undertaking both Cemented and Uncemented Total Hip replacements including Ceramic on Ceramic bearing and Metal on Crosslinked Polyethylene bearings. He also specialises in complex reconstructions including Revision Hip and Knee Arthroplasty surgery and Custom-made Hip replacements. He is trained to undertake Robotic-assisted Hip, Knee, and Partial Knee Replacement Surgery. He also undertakes Minimally Invasive Total Hip Replacements, Joint Preservation Surgery for Hip Arthritis, and CT/MR based personalised Total Knee Replacements.

His research interests mainly centre on assessment of clinical outcomes following hip and knee Replacement surgery.

He is a member of the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA), British Hip Society (BHS) and the American academy of orthopaedic surgeons (AAOS, international affiliate member)
